4 Scientific Facts About Sleep
Recent research shows, as we get older, it is advisable to reduce the sleep time.
Sleep is the best way to restore the body’s energy.
However, some people often experience sleep disturbances, particularly insomnia. As a result, they will have trouble sleeping and wake up in the morning.
Well, in order to improve the quality of sleep, you should identify the scientific facts about sleep.

1. Lack of sleep is a myth

National Sleep Foundation has examined the experiences of those who sleep less. In fact, the study also found that there was no change in sleep, when compared with the data 40 years ago.

2. Increased Age, the sleep time should be reduced

Last year, the World Health Organization (WHO) says that working the night shift can cause sleep problems. In contrast, a recent study suggests that as we age, the need to reduce sleep time.

3. Type of bed

There are several types of sleep that you need to know, like polyphasic sleep, monophasic and biphasic. Polyphasic sleep refers to the practice of bed more than twice a day, while biphasic done twice (day and night). While monophasic sleep is done once in 24 hours, especially at night.

4. Sleep when tired

When you feel tired, get sleep. That is the best way to recover the body from fatigue.

So, how healthy sleep? Here are some tips:

1. Go to bed at the same time every night.
2. Provide adequate time for a minimum of 7 hours of sleep each night.
3. Avoid caffeine, heavy or spicy foods, and alcoholic beverages. A minimum of four to six hours before bedtime.
4. Perform routine before bed.
5. Turn off the lights, radio, television or anything that can make a sound (sound) so as not to disturb your sleep.
6. Exercise routine every day. However, do not do it before bed.
